A CSR Initiative of
Collins Aerospace
Under the CSR–Collins Aerospace initiative, the focus is on identifying talented artists within local communities, providing them with support, training, and instilling belief in the uniqueness of their skills and potential. Through this initiative, support is extended to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and individuals who aspire to make a difference in the lives of women in their communities. The primary objective is to facilitate the entrepreneurial journey of these women, enabling them to leverage their talents and hard work.
Over the past three years, Collins Aerospace has continuously supported these women, who engage in various activities such as candle production, raw material procurement, stall visits, exposure trips, and order fulfillment. This endeavor not only offers flexible working opportunities but also fosters unity, cooperation, knowledge sharing, and collective problem-solving among women, ultimately contributing to the socio-economic development of rural areas.

The aim is to nurture these women’s entrepreneurial aspirations, empowering them to embark on their journey with their talents and dedication.

Rural Rising
Rural Rising is an integrated and sustainable rural development program of United Way Bengaluru. It aims to transform rural areas into thriving and sustainable communities in the country by empowering the local people and tapping opportunities for rural development through varied interventions. This approach involves working closely with local authorities and community members to identify the major issues and priorities of the area and to develop a plan for implementation.
The process of implementation involves setting clear goals and developing an implementation plan with expected outputs and outcomes. This program is in line with United Way’s vision of “a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability, and healthy lives”. This is a Multi-year intervention to develop community resilience in the project area through improving the quality of Education, Primary Education, livelihood support for PWD women empowerment, youth empowerment, Health, Hygiene, and providing access to sustainable and clean energy. UWBe is working in convergence with District, Block, and Panchayat Administration to explore further convergence opportunities.
